And They followed their hearts..

Mood: Pleased , Retrospective

1. He was a college junior. I had known him through the Assoc we both were part of. We weren't very close but yes, we used to talk now and then.
It was second year, I suppose, when he encountered this news of the sad demise of his father. The guy, though very emotional, kept his concentration targeted. He finished his degree in 3.5 years.
And now, when I got to chat with him some days back, he was enquiring about the general employee leave policy in IT companies. Later, he told me that he needs to know it for deciding few things in his company. He was re-establishing his father's business of web-marriage-portal leaving all the job-offers aside. I had a proud smile on my face with respect for the guy.

2. This guy was a colleague. Yes, he was and now, he is not. But he is still a dear friend.
From all that I had observed about him in the last 18-20 months, one thing which I can say for sure is that he had extraordinary potential. With his insatiable thirst of learning and his knowledge spanning all over, he was surely a gem.
But he never got those opportunities which could have done justice with his abilities. He tried enough, things improved a bit but not permanently. He never missed a chance to let management know what he wants and what he deserves. When he could see that the things won't be changing, he decided to call it off.
He wishes to either find a job for his abilities or will go for teaching. And, I have no doubt that he is gonna be successful and happier than ever.

It takes enormous self-confidence and self-belief to take some tough decisions like these. There are always few easy options to earn good money and lead a content life; but only if you followed your heart in some crucial junctures of life, you will be able to make a difference. Huge respect for the ones who have the guts to do that!
